Care that honors the connection between mind, body, and lived experience.
Hi, I’m Emily, the owner and therapist at Live Well Counseling and Wellness. I believe meaningful mental health care looks at the whole person-mind, body, and spirit-and honors each individual’s unique story. My work is grounded in holistic wellness and the belief that healing happens when we feel truly seen, supported, and empowered.
My therapeutic approach is person-centered and eclectic, meaning therapy is tailored to you rather than a one-size-fits-all model. I draw from multiple evidence-based modalities to meet your specific needs, goals, and lived experiences. I often incorporate an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approach, helping clients better understand and build compassion for the different parts of themselves. All of my work is guided by a trauma-informed lens. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and am a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F), allowing me to support clients in a way that prioritizes safety, nervous system regulation, and empowerment.
I place a strong emphasis on somatic therapy, mindfulness, and meditation, supporting clients in reconnecting with their bodies, increasing nervous system awareness, and building tools for regulation and resilience. These practices are woven gently into therapy and are always tailored to each client’s comfort level and needs. I am also a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), with training in nutrition for mental health, and am currently working towards my RYT-200 certificate (expected Fall 2026). All of this combined allows me to treat clients in a way that meaningfully supports the mind-body connection, honoring how emotional experiences live in the body and how physical awareness can support emotional healing.
I hold a special place in my work for parents-especially mothers. As a mom of two, I understand firsthand the emotional, mental, and physical demands of parenting, including the identity shifts, overwhelm, and invisible load that so many parents carry. I thoughtfully pair this lived experience with my clinical training to support parents in a way that is compassionate, practical, and deeply validating-without judgement or pressure to “do it all” (because spoiler alert: no one can!).
In general, I work with adolescents and adults ages 13 and older, with a broad range of presenting concerns including, trauma, parenting, perinatal and postpartum mental health, life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and relational challenges. At Live Well, my goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where healing feels attainable and sustainable.
